Pony Hair Care
Moderate Frizz
Ponies that have been played with by children or left in storage for a long time may have frizzy hair, and if they've got tinsel -- oh no. Here's a brief tutorial on how I deal with moderate frizz. A more in depth tutorial for dealing with extreme frizz is coming!
Poor October Dreams (far right).... I bought her online from her picture, but I knew I could help her out. She's a gorgeous pony, so she was worth the work to fix her up!

The key to dealing with played-with ponies is detangler! Invest in a good one and it will change your life.
After you watch the pony hair with mild foaming hand soap and conditioner (see the general care page), rinse, and apply detangler liberally according to how bad the frizz is and how much hair the pony has. Find a sturdy My Little Pony comb and work from the ENDS to the base of the tail or mane. Ends first! I like to use a comb similar to G1 Brilliant Bloom's comb, thanks to the handle.
Notice the improvement!
Rise the pony's hair and apply a smoothing cream like the one shown below. I think gel feels sticky and gross in pony hair, so cream is my favorite. Wrap the mane and tail (see the general care page) to give the hair shape and control. Let it dry at least eight hours or simply overnight. Remove the paper towel wraps and admire your pony!
